When you read my blog, and/or use my services, you trust me with your information. This Privacy Policy is meant to help you understand what data I collect, why I collect, and what I do with it.

Only if required, I collect your information with your consent. I only collect the minimum amount of information that is necessary to operate my website and/or software and services. I don't sell or share your information with anyone else.

Easy to read Privacy Policy


I share my learning with the community via my website, and there might be cases where you would need to submit some of your personal information to let me contact you and provide assistance.

Here I have put details about your personal data I may collect, what do I do with it and other related information in an easy to read manner, I did't hire any consultant or lawyer to write it, and hopefully you won't need one either to read and easily understand it.

What personal data I may collect and Why?

Comments
When visitors leave comments on my site I collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/.

After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Media
If you upload images to my website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included.

Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

Contact forms
When/if you fill up any form on my website, I can use that information to better serve you, for e.g Your Name, IP Address, Country, Email ID, Product and/or Service you are using.

Cookies
If you leave a comment on my site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies.

These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment.

These cookies will last for one year.If you have an account and you log in to my site, I will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

When you log in, I will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year.

If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.

If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie includes no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after 1 day.

Embedded content from other websites
Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracing your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

Google Extensions
I also publish Google Add On (e.g Google Sheet Add on) to share my experience to help the community to Google users, when you use these extensions, Google sign-in will authenticate your identity and provide you the option to share certain personal information with me such as your email address only in a few cases.

Miscellaneous
As is true of most websites, I might gather certain non-personal statistical information automatically and store it in cookies and log files.

This information includes internet protocol (IP) addresses, browser version, operating system, date/time stamp, and other interactions with the application.

I might use this information to analyze trends, to identify potential cases of abuse and to help diagnose technical problems.

Social Media Features
My website may use social media features, such as the Facebook “Like” button. These features may collect your IP address and the page you are visiting on my website.

Please note : Above list may not be a complete and updated list always, as sometimes I try new software applications to provide you services. Please reach out to me if you have any questions about the 3rd party softwares that I would be using at a given time.

Also, visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service, Email address that you provide may be checked for validity through an automated email validation service.

How do I Protect your data?

The best way to secure data is to not collect it:), So I only collect data that I really need to better serve you.

This data may be stored in the software applications that I use (e.g Google Sheets). Access to this information is only available to myself, and people authorized by me.This information is also secured by Multi Factor Authentication (MFA) to ensure further safety, and encryption in transit and at rest.

You have rights over your data

If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, or filled up the form or provided information in any other way, you can request to receive the information that I hold about you, including any data you have provided to me.

You can also request that I erase any personal data I hold about you. This does not include any data I am obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

What data breach procedures do I have in place?

Though I take your data privacy very seriously, and being a technology professional invest time in ensuring that your information is safe with us, I also have a way to notify you via email in case of any data breach detected.
