Google Workspace Setup Guide
A Complete step by step video guide for Google Workspace setup with your domain following Google’s recommended best practices.
1. Purchase Domain
- We will begin our Google Workspace setup by purchasing a domain from Godaddy which we'll be then registering with Google Workspace.
- Though I assume you already have a domain, and if thats the case, simply move to the next step below.
- But just in case if you haven't purchased your domain yet, click on the video button below to see the step by step tutorial.
2. Google Workspace Registeration
- After purchasing the domain, now its time to register your domain with Google Workspace.
- In this video, we will register our domain with Google Workspace step by step.
3. Domain Verification
- Google will only allow us to use its Google Workspace email and collaboration services after we verify that we own the registered domain.
- Google does it avoid abuse of its system, and to ensure only proven domain owners can do Google Workspace setup and use provided services.

4. Create Users & Groups
- Before we set up our emails to start coming to Gmail, we first need to create all the required users & groups in Google Workspace.
- There are multiple methods to create users in Google Workspace such as manually, in bulk via csv, directory sync, API etc.

- To let our emails start landing into our newly created Gmail boxes, we need to either create OR change MX Records.
- MX Record is a DNS record which contains the address/es of your email servers (in our case Google mail servers).

6. SPF Record Setup
- SPF Record stands for "Senders Policy Framework", where you authorize certain mail servers to send emails on behalf of your domain.
- This is optional, but highly recommended as per Google's best recommended practices.

- DKIM stands for "Domain Key Identified Mail", and Google highly recommends to set this up to make your Google Workspace Setup secure.
